Visitors to this jewel in the Aegean Sea arrive on the island of  Rhodes about four hours after leaving London.  Shaped like a diamond, this largest of the Dodecanese islands is about 40 miles long and 25 miles wide.

     The mountainous island of Rhodes is dotted with numerous torrents and springs, some therapeutic and some containing mineral waters. With the best sunshine record in all of Greece, the island’s climate is mild and healthy with minimal humidity.  Beaches are sandy, safe and ideal for swimming, boating and watersports. 

     If the island’s beauty and warm and friendly population are not enough, visitors will find history and archaeological sites dating as far back as the Stone Age, and the unique Valley of the Pegaloudhes (Butterflies) should not be missed by visitors between June and September when thousands of butterflies take refuge in this lovely haven.

       A charming little village, Lindos has no hotels and  all accommodations are self catered in the traditional Lindian style.  However, there are numerous restaurants and bars for every mood and pocket and, for those who enjoy dancing until the early hours, visitors will enjoy the two lively discos.  The whitewashed houses are scattered throughout the hillsides, mostly built around a courtyard paved in unique black and white pebble mosaic.

       Walk from your accommodations to one of the three main beaches, furnished with sun beds and umbrellas and equipped for wind surfing and pedalos.  Visit John Nightingale at Lindos Water Ski for skiing and ringos, whether you are a novice or experienced.  Young children welcome too!  Or visit St. Paul’s beach for snorkeling in the unbelievably blue waters.

        Once you have tried Lindos, you will want to return again and again.
